A man is facing one count of aggravated assault following an allegedly vicious assault of an Osoyoos man in December.
The BC Prosecution Service confirmed that Michael Jordan Shalagan-Morsette made an appearance on Feb. 5 in Penticton Provincial Court.
He faces one count of aggravated assault as a result of an incident that allegedly occurred on Dec. 14, 2019 in Osoyoos. None of the charges have been proven in a court of law.
Shalagan-Morsette was arrested on Jan. 17 according to Sgt. Jason Bayda of the Osoyoos RCMP. On Jan. 20, Bayda said a 22-year-old man from Peachland was also arrested on this matter.
“Charges against the second man have not yet been laid,” Bayda said.
On Dec. 14 at 11:50 p.m., the Osoyoos RCMP responded to a call of a man who was seriously injured on Cottonwood Drive. Kyle Bourdon was allegedly assaulted and beaten according to the GoFundMe page set up to assist with medical bills. Bourdon, an employee of AG Foods, was in the altercation on Dec. 14 following a staff Christmas party, according to his great uncle Ron Bradley who set up the online fundraiser.
Shalagan-Morsette will appear in provincial court on Feb. 26 for election.
