The Okanagan Similkameen school district has a new district principal of student support services.
The district announced Monday that Heather Rose is filling the position effective Jan. 1.
Currently the principal of Trout Creek Elementary School in Summerland, Rose was also principal at Kaleden Elementary School and Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia Okanagan.
She holds a Master of Education degree in Administration and Leadership as well as certificates in Transformative Educational Leadership and Violent Threat Assessment Level 3.
“The Board of Education welcomes Ms. Rose as district principal and wishes her success in her new role,” board chair Rob Zandee said in a news release.
Zandee also shared the board’s thanks to Shendah Benoit, the outgoing district principal, for many years of service to the district and for her leadership in the area of student support services.
