Do you have the best Christmas lights in town?
This year, it could win you a prize with the Osoyoos Festival Society’s new Christmas Light contest.
Members of the Osoyoos Festival Society will patrol town and surrounding regional district areas in search of homes and businesses decorated for Christmas.
They’ll then award four homes and four businesses.
“There’s not a theme or anything, we just pick four best decorated,” society member Shirley Baker said.

Winners get a prize, and local photographer Ron Hiller will document the decorations.
The eight judges don’t have any theme or specific criteria they’re looking for, just what stands out, Baker said.
“We’re just going to look and see how it appeals to your eyes. We know of several places around town that go all out and so we’ll be there.”
To be considered, residents will have until Dec. 3 to decorate their homes, and prizes will be awarded at the Smitty’s Toys for Tots to Teens at Smitty’s Restaurant on Dec. 6 from 7 to 10 a.m. Winners will be announced in the Osoyoos Times the following week.
