Floyd Baptiste Sr. is now in custody according to a short update from the RCMP.

Const. James Grandy updated media with a short email stating “Lloyd Baptiste Sr. was arrested last night.”

RCMP in Penticton are reaching out to the public for help locating a wanted man that may be in the Oliver area.

Police are searching for Floyd Baptiste Sr., 42, wanted for domestic violence-related assault causing bodily harm and breaching bail conditions, Const. James Grandy said in a news release.

“Baptiste Sr. is known to frequent the South Okanagan, and may currently be in the Oliver, B.C. area,” Grandy said.

Baptiste is Aboriginal, and described as having a heavy build, brown eyes and short brown hair.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Baptiste is asked to call 911, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

“Due to the seriousness of the offences he has been charged with, police do not recommend the public engage with him and simply call 911,” Grandy said.
