Light up your Christmas spirit with Oliver’s annual Christmas Light-Up on November 24.
From 4-7 pm, visitors are invited to rediscover downtown with a record number of businesses participating this year featuring exclusive promotions.
The actual Light-Up will be at 6:15 pm at the Town Hall with a performance by the Oliver Elementary School choir. And watch out for a special appearance from Santa Claus.
Sage Valley Voices will be driven around town on the back of fire trucks carolling.
At the Royal LePage real estate office at Southwinds Crossing Shopping Centre there will be pictures with Santa from 3-5 pm.
At CIBC there is a Unique Wreath competition, in which local businesses have created wreaths to represent themselves. Visitors are encouraged to come vote for their favourite.
The community park will be open from 6:30-8:30 pm with appearances from the Oliver Fire Department and Grandmothers for Africa.
There will be a bonfire, free hot chocolate and popcorn, and of course fireworks, which will start at 7:30.
The Firehall Brewery will be hosting a family friendly fireworks after party as well, with a keg capping, live music, and food.
This year, members of the Christmas Light-Up Committee have been working diligently to raise funds for the fireworks and have been given many gracious donations from local businesses and the Town. They have almost reached their goal.
If your business would like to donate, please contact Petra Veintimilla at [email protected].
