The November 11th sun painted everyone’s face with a warm glow as they remembered those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Weather wise, it was one of the best days in memory for Remembrance Day ceremonies in Oliver.

Young, old and the wheelchair-bound came out to honour war veterans at the cenotaph today while warbirds flew overhead – a reminder that people should never forget what veterans did so that we could live in freedom.

A contingent of proud veterans, RCMP, dignitaries and residents marched from the Oliver Community Centre to the cenotaph to pay their respects. A wreath-laying ceremony followed.

At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them . . .
