In its continuing efforts to be transparent, Oliver Town council has released another batch of previously closed resolutions.
The latest release is for the time period of July 14 to December 8, 2014.
Sewer service agreement
Staff directed to draft an updated sewage treatment agreement with the Osoyoos Indian Band. The agreement: Continue to provide sewage treatment for up to 300 residential units on the reserve; update the purchase price to $6,000 per residential unit; sewage flows from Vincor to be diverted to OIB treatment facility; and provide emergency standby service to the OIB in the event of a plant failure or overload.
Acting pay
Council released a decision on the acting chief administrative officer: That in Tom Szalay’s absence for the period of August 1-18, Cathy Cowan be offered the position of acting chief administrative officer, with a compensation of $2,000.
Community Services Building
Council resolved that the immediate abatement costs in the amount of $2,925 be funded from general reserves and that repairs be completed as soon as possible.
Another resolution: That council direct the asbestos remediation work identified by Peak Environmental Ltd. not be undertaken.
Airport terminal building
Staff was authorized to enter into a lease agreement with the South Okanagan Flying Club to provide terminal facilities under the following conditions: Town enter into a 20-year lease at $1 per year with a cancellation clause if it were to put a terminal building in place; the Town pays for building insurance as in the past; flying club pays for all other utilities; Town pays the club a flat rate of $3,500 annually as a fee for service; flying club to provide in-kind labour as in the past; and the club to provide a detailed summary of costs incurred in operating the club house.
