This is something I hope many of you will truly think about and help find an easy and economical solution that could help all of us.
Walking, the healthiest form of exercise, whether it is being done because of need, relaxation, or health is really not very safe.
It is great to see light coloured clothing or reflective tape used, but not all of us have that or can afford it. Is there not some way that reflective pins could be made, so that they could be attached to the outer garments being worn when walking or riding a bike?
Yes it is far fetched, but I truly feel it is something to be considered.
Just think if it was being worn by all the students in Oliver, with it being accessible at stores, businesses, or volunteers for everyone else. If it could be accepted as a necessity in this wonderful town, there would be fewer vehicle accidents and loss of lives.
Please think of the life we just lost, and the gift her presence had been in Oliver. Do we just sit back and wait for the next one to happen, or can we do something that may help to prevent someone else being hurt.
Just more food for thought.
Pat McCulloch, Oliver
