Oliver sportsman Ron Ostermeier will be the head coach for four archers named to Team BC in the 2015 Winter Games.
The process for selecting the team started more than a year ago when all of the hopefuls had to declare their intentions to try out for the team.
The athletes were tested by shooting scores on the targets that will be used during the Games under the guidance of judges.
“For the athletes that tried out for the Canada Winter Games, it was a true test of their dedication to the sport,” said Ostermeier. The final test event was held at the beginning of November in Oliver where the top eight recurve shooters and the top eight compound shooters were invited to come and show their stuff under competitive pressure.
They shot the first day for ranking, then during match play on the second day a team was selected based on their final standing.
The BC Archery Association has announced the four athletes who will compete for Team BC: Tony Proctor from Prince George, Emerie Watson from Quesnel, Levi Kelbert from Kelowna, and Mya Schouwenburg from Prince George.
