Harold Cox from Osoyoos was locally famous last winter for surviving a heart attack while playing hockey in the Oliver arena. Now he’ll soon be famous nationally for being featured on Hockey Night in Canada.

Today the senior was interviewed by a film crew that set up shop at the arena to capture the camaraderie between Cox and his teammates on ice again, nine months after he was technically dead from a massive heart attack. Several of his teammates managed to bring him back from the reaper with the help of an automated external defibrillator (AED).

Following the ordeal, Cox underwent triple bypass surgery, which was deemed successful, and now he is walking around like it never happened.

The Hockey Night in Canada feature is slated to be aired this fall. Check out next week’s story in the Oliver Chronicle.
