EZ Fuel ATMWEB

Would-be thieves are shown entering the EZ Fuel store in an attempt to steal the ATM, but their efforts were in vain. Police are asking the public to help identify the suspects.

The RCMP are looking for three suspects after EZ Fuel was forcibly entered in a daring break-in on August 14.

At 4:21 a.m. an unknown person driving an older model green Dodge diesel flat deck truck (accompanied by two unknown males) made a brazen attempt to steal an ATM machine from inside the store.

The driver of the flat deck repeatedly backed into the front door of the business and was able to create an opening for his cohorts. At this point two subjects made several failed attempts to remove the ATM.

The three individuals subsequently fled the scene in the pickup truck and headed south towards Oliver along Highway 97.

At 4:31 a.m. police responded to a second call on Pampas Grass Way (off Secrest Hill Road) where the suspect vehicle was on fire. Oliver firefighters prevented the blaze from spreading too far.

Police continue to investigate and are looking for community support in identifying the suspects and the owner of the truck.

One suspect, wearing an orange mask, is described as standing five feet, seven inches tall and weighing 140-155 pounds.

Another suspect wore a blue workman’s jacket and is described as standing about six feet tall and weighing 160-170 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Oliver RCMP at 250-498-3422 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
