Police investigate serious assault

 

On April 18 at 3 am the Oliver RCMP responded to a serious assault causing bodily harm at a residence on Tucelnuit Drive.

The victim in the assault was transported to Penticton Regional Hospital with serious but non life threatening injuries.

One adult male was arrested and appeared in provincial court in Penticton on April 22.

 

Two arrested for stolen property

 

On April 18 the Oliver RCMP responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle driving in the area of Shrike Hill Road off McKinney Road, west of Oliver.

This area is in close proximity to Mt. Baldy ski hill and has been hit particularly hard recently by seasonal break-ins.

On arrival in the area, police located an occupied vehicle. A subsequent check resulted in the arrest of one adult male and one adult female for possession of stolen property. Some of this property has been associated to the break-ins of Mt. Baldy cabins.

The female has since been released as a result of a bail hearing and will appear in Penticton Provincial Court on April 30.

The male accused was held and was scheduled to appear in court on April 22.

 

Immigration arrest

 

On April 19 the Osoyoos RCMP arrested a 38- year-old man on an outstanding immigration arrest warrant.

The man was turned over to Canada Border Services Agency officials.  He reportedly has an active Interpol warrant out of Hungary.
