Contract
Council awarded a contract ($152,250) to Trenchless Underground Services for a “directional drill” project under the Okanagan River at Buchanan Road.
As part of the water twinning project north of town, horizontal directional drilling is required under the river to join the water main from Buchanan Road to Park Rill Road. (Directional drilling is a steerable trenchless method of installing water mains.)
The Town employed this technique during a previous water-twinning phase at Road 14.
Fire calls
Oliver firefighters responded to 12 calls for service in November.
These included three motor vehicle accidents, one tree fire, one chimney fire, one stove fire, two smoke sightings, and one carbon monoxide alarm.
