DrugsOn Monday, December 9, at approximately 8 pm, South Okanagan Traffic Services & South Okanagan RCMP members were conducting an impaired driving “Counter-Attack” roadcheck on Hwy 3 in Osoyoos.At this time an eastbound vehicle aroused the suspicion of an officer, who noted several indicators of criminal behavior. The occupants were subsequently detained and a police service dog was deployed around the vehicle (Police Service Dog “Jet”, a narcotic trained police dog attached to Traffic Services). The occupants were subsequently arrested & a search of the vehicle recovered 9 lbs of marihuana, 750 grams of cocaine, several containers of various illicit steroids & 197 tablets of suspected oxycodone.  Sold on the street, these drugs have a value of over $120,000.000.  The two males, aged 26 & 28 years old, were from the Lower Mainland and remain in custody at this time pending further investigation.
