Rash of thefts keep cops hopping
The Oliver RCMP received a report of stolen tools from a local storage unit.
The tools consisted of an impact wrench, cordless drill and an air-chuck from a compressor. No suspects are identified in this theft.
A resident in the 6,000 block of Hollow Street reported the theft (from her garage) of a child’s bike, a small compressor and a 75-foot extension cord.
These items have since been recovered, however, no charges will be considered in this investigation.
An Oliver motel owner reported the theft of a flat screen TV from his motel.
An investigation resulted in the recovery of the TV and a suspect being identified and charged.
A local business owner reported the theft of a silver Acer laptop computer valued at $500.
Police confirmed the identity of the male suspect, who is well known to police. An application for an arrest warrant is being made and efforts will continue to recover the property.
Bridge damaged
Police attended a motor vehicle accident on Sumac Street where a semi pulling a trailer heading southbound attempted to turn across a small bridge on Road 3.
The rear driver-side tire caught the railing and tore off the posts. Argo Road Maintenance removed the railing and proceeded to repair the damage.
