A wildfire, believed to be human caused, broke out late Monday night below the switchbacks on Anarchist Mountain about two kilometres east of Osoyoos Lake.
Anarchist Mountain Fire Department and 10 personnel from B.C. Wildfire Service responded to the blaze and managed to contain it, thanks to co-operative weather.
A water tender was brought to the site.
Rachel Witt, a fire information officer with Kamloops Fire Centre, said the maximum size was estimated at 10 hectares.
Through the night, crews were able to go around the entire perimeter of the blaze, she said.
Witt said she could not speak to the cause of the fire because it is still under active investigation, but the B.C. Wildfire Service website says it is suspected to be human caused. There were no lightning strikes in the area.
