The Travelling Mabels, a band that captured Group of the Year at the Canadian Academy of Country Music Awards (ACMA) five years ago, are sure to have feet stomping when they perform in Osoyoos next week.
The Travelling Mabels will perform at the Osoyoos Community Theatre as part of the Osoyoos Concert Series on Thursday, Feb. 9. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. The Travelling Mabels are a folk/country female trio full of spirit, spunk and laughter.
Collectively, their songs bring a wealth of life experience to the stage. Singularily, each woman can vocally stand alone, but once you hear the combined harmony blend, you will know why these three women came together.
The beauty of the Travelling Mabels is that they represent three generations of women.
This has opened the door to a dynamic energy both musically and in the rapport with the audiences that most wouldn’t experience every day.
Their musical influences range from Dolly Parton, The Eagles, Bob Dylan to Sheryl Crow and their comedic, yet often heartfelt take on life means they more than meet a wide range of audience expectations. The three women will be joined by Keith “Unstable Mabel”, the bandleader and keyboard player for the Travelling Mabels. He helps provide the musical backbone for the group and has produces and co-engineered both of the group’s CDs.
Advance tickets for adults $23 ($25 at the door) and $15 for students and are available at Imperial Office Pro in Osoyoos and in Oliver at Sundance Video.
