As Osoyoos Secondary School (OSS) prepares to close, Principal Mike Safek has been named as the new principal of Tuc-el-Nuit Elementary School in Oliver.

The change, which takes effect Aug. 1, is one of several being made by School District 53 as a result of the OSS closure.

Lyle Chapman, vice-principal of OSS, will move to Southern Okanagan Secondary School in Oliver to assume the duties of second vice-principal.

Shendah Benoit, current principal of Tuc-el-Nuit, will move to the district principal position for Student Support Services. This is a result of Terry Collis retiring.
