Two Osoyoos residents were injured in a vehicle collision at Olalla last Thursday, one of them critically.

The accident happened at 12:47 p.m. on May 12 when a westbound 2003 Corvette was travelling through Olalla on Highway 3A. An eastbound 2010 Pontiac G3 turned left in front of the Corvette, said Sgt. Harold Hallett, of RCMP South Okanagan Traffic Services in a news release.

The 60-year-old male driver of the Corvette, from Osoyoos, received life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Kelowna General Hospital, where he is still in critical condition, police said.

Both the 40-year-old female passenger of the Corvette, also from Osoyoos, and the 56-year-old female driver of the Pontiac, from Hedley, received moderate injuries and were transported by ambulance to Penticton Regional Hospital.

The front driver sides of both vehicles collided, Hallett said.

A collision reconstructionist from Kelowna attended the scene, as well as South Okangan Traffic Services and Keremeos RCMP.

Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to call South Okanagan Traffic Services at 250-499-2250.
