The Oliver Fire Department hosted an open house today at its fire training grounds to show the public what members do in the line of duty.

Firefighters demonstrated a rooftop rescue, auto extrication, a vehicle fire, door breach and building ventilation.

Children were given a real treat with a ride in a fire truck.
