It has been quite a busy summer for me, as Miss Osoyoos, and the Osoyoos Princesses, Tianna Morgan and Bailey Toepfer.
We had our coronation on June 30 and for the new Osoyoos Royalty team, it has been non-stop since then.
We started off our reign with the Cherry Fiesta.
The first public event we attended as newly-crowned Royalty was the Rotary pancake breakfast on Canada Day.
After that, we were in the parade with our little buddies.
After the parade we attended the town lunch with other visiting royalty.
We then went to the band shell in Gyro Park to introduce ourselves as the new Royalty team.
We later travelled to Peachland to be a part of that town’s Canada day parade and that ended our first day as a team.
Since then, every weekend we have travelled to a different community, to be a part of their parades and coronations.
Our first pageant was in Princeton in early July.
The first thing we did was be a part of their parade. Then we went to their pageant, introduced ourselves, and met the new group of girls to represent Princeton.
The following week, we travelled first to the community of Oliver, for their parade and Sunshine Fest. The parade was super fun and I really enjoyed the entertainment at the festival.
Then we drove on to Kamloops. It was my first time visiting Kamloops and I never knew how big a city it actually is.
That evening, we attended the pageant. It was amazing to see another community’s pageant, especially as it has such a big royalty program.
I loved seeing Kamloops for the first time and I can’t wait to visit the community again.
The last place we went to was Kelowna on the night of that beautiful city’s royalty pageant.
As their pageant began, a piper started to play and all the visiting royalty entered the auditorium. It was a very special experience.
Right after the new Lady of The Lake was crowned, she led the visiting Royalty out again, following the piper, to make the crowning official.
After the pageant, there were snacks and drinks and it was really fun to meet and get to know Royalty from the other communities.
The next day, a houseboat tour had been arranged for all the visiting royalty. It was very fun to be on Okanagan Lake and visit with all the other communities’ representatives.
After the houseboat ride, we took pictures down by the beach and then returned home.
Travelling this past summer has been such an amazing experience and I cannot wait for future trips.
We would like to thank everyone in the community who supports the Osoyoos Royalty program as we would not be able to enjoy these wonderful experiences without your generous support.
Thank you once again for all of the support and we can’t wait to see what the future holds.
