Two boats burned down in the middle of the night on the weekend on Osoyoos Lake near Lions Park.
Osoyoos RCMP said they were called to the scene just before 1 a.m. on Sunday morning and the Osoyoos Fire Department also responded.
The boats were owned by the same person and were tied together, RCMP said. The fire is believed to have started on the larger boat and spread to the smaller boat, which then drifted out into the lake.
Both boats were destroyed.
Although police received a number of complaints about the boats being moored at various locations on the lake prior to the incident, there was no evidence of suspicious activity causing the blaze.
A number of incendiary devices had been stored on the larger boat.
