There should be plenty of toe tapping, smiling faces and singing from audience members as the Osoyoos Concert Series presents the Foothills Brass Quintet on Thursday, Dec. 4 at the Osoyoos community theatre at Osoyoos Secondary School.
The Foothills Brass Quintet has been entertaining audiences for over 30 years and promise to put on a great show when they perform its Christmas-themed show in Osoyoos, said Osoyoos Concert Series promoter Pat Philpott.
“Whether dazzling audiences with high energy and interactive programs or enlightening adults to the incredible versatility of the brass quintet, Foothills Brass delivers serious fun,” she said.
Founded in 1981, Foothills Brass Quintet has the distinct privilege of being one of only a handful of chamber groups to maintain a full-time performance schedule since the group was formed more than 30 years ago in Calgary.
Foothills Brass Quintet performs more than 200 events each year in concert halls, universities, classrooms and cathedrals.
Foothills Brass is composed of five versatile musicians from across North America. This superb quintet is dedicated to exceptional artistic presentation, meaningful educational activities and innovative leadership in the artistic community, said Philpott. The group features talented musicians who play trumpets, trombones, French Horns and tubas and turn it into a lot of musical fun.
Foothills Brass Quintet is one of the best brass bands in the entire country and the Osoyoos Concert Series is thrilled to have them come to our community for the annual Christmas concert, she said.
Tickets are $23 in advance or $25 at the door. Students can purchase tickets for $15. Tickets can be purchased at Imperial Office Pro on Main Street in Osoyoos and Sundance Video in Oliver.
Anyone who needs a ride to and from the concert is asked to contact Alix at 250-495-5250 to arrange transportation.
