Dear Editor:
A big thank you goes out to our business and local community for supporting the South Okanagan Amateur Players (SOAP) in their current production of Lend Me A Tenor, which was presented at the Osoyoos High School Mini Theatre May 23 and 24.
If a successful production were measured in terms of a laugh meter, this one was off the charts.
Dainty twitters gave way to belly laughs as the evening progressed.
At the final curtain calls, the audiences had trouble making it through the exit doors because they were still laughing!
The Goat Ladies provided the concession for both performances and are very grateful for your donations toward the purchase of a sofa-hide-a-bed (costing approximately $1,600) which will be purchased for South Okanagan General Hospital Palliative Care Unit in Oliver.
Your support for our projects at various fundraising events have resulted in contributions to the unit for such special items as alarm mats, TV/DVDs, recliner chairs, special mattresses and more for the care and comfort of patient and family.
If you missed seeing the production in Osoyoos, you have another chance to see it in Oliver this weekend on May 30 or 31 at 8 p.m. at Venables Auditorium at South Okanagan Secondary School.
I am a proud member of SOAP and I want everyone to know the The Goat Ladies will be there too.
Elaine Ecker
