Another 1,297 ballots were added in the final provincial election results from Boundary-Similkameen, but Liberal candidate Linda Larson remains the winner.

The final vote count was completed across the province May 29, verifying tallies from election night and adding the numerous absentee ballots cast by voters who were away from their regular polling places.

While totals increased throughout the province, the final count only changed the outcome in one riding, Coquitlam-Maillardville, where Selina Robinson of the NDP came out ahead of Liberal Steve Kim, who had been declared the winner on election night.

This means final seat totals are Liberal 49, NDP 34, Green 1 and Independent 1.

In Boundary-Similkameen, Larson added 646 votes to her total, while Sam Hancheroff of the NDP added 457. John Kwasnica of the Green Party added 121 votes, Mischa Popoff (independent) added 47 and Doug Pederson (independent) added 26.

The increase in votes, however, left the candidates with roughly the same percentages of popular vote that they received on election night May 14.

Final totals were: Larson 8,499, Hancheroff 7,113, Kwasnica 1,602, Popoff 655 and Pederson 375.
