Dear Editor:
The Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC) would like to publicly express that while we are in a position to advise the mayor and members of town council on decisions related to economic development, we were in no way complicit in Jim Newman’s termination nor the manner in which it was handled.
We found Newman to be passionate and committed to the citizens of Osoyoos without bias or personal agenda and in keeping with that, the committee has decided to continue the advisory work with which Newman tasked us.
We trust that mayor, council and town staff is as committed as ever to economic development and we look forward to working with them.
Our council-appointed committee is extremely passionate about our community and takes our role in representing local businesses and residents very seriously.
We wish Newman the very best in his future endeavours.
