The evacuation alert has been rescinded for the Regal Ridge Subdivision on Anarchist Mountain by the Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen.
Under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Forest, Land and Natural Resources, the property owner has safely drained the water from the lower (one of two) water reservoirs.
The work also included de-commissioning the existing dam structure on the lower reservoir.
The MFLNR Dam Safety Officers have assessed the dam structure on the upper reservoir and determined it does not currently pose a threat to the residences or public at large below.
The expected flow of water down Nine Mile Creek should not exceed the natural rain event experienced earlier this year. This waterway system should behave no differently than under natural circumstances.
