Combined H1N1 and seasonal flu vaccination clinics are scheduled to take place at the Osoyoos and Oliver seniors centres beginning next week.

The Osoyoos Seniors Centre at 17 Park Place will host its clinic on Nov. 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The Oliver Seniors Centre at 34452 95th Ave. will host a clinic on Nov. 2 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Those people eligible to receive both the H1N1 and seasonal flu vaccines at these clinics include:

  • Pregnant women in the second half of pregnancy
  • People under the age of 65 with chronic health conditions
  • Children between the ages of six and 59 months (or less than five years old)
  • Household contacts and care providers of infants under six months of age
  • Household contacts and care providers of persons who are immunocompromised
  • Persons residing in rural and remote communities including the Aboriginal population
  • Health care workers involved in responding to pandemic influenza

Interior Health has announced that clinic dates, times and locations will be updated every Wednesday at http://www.interiorhealth.ca/2009FluClinics.aspx.

People are also encouraged to check with their doctors’ office or pharmacy in the coming weeks to see if and when they will be providing H1N1 and seasonal flu vaccines.
