The Osoyoos Skateboard Park Committee has been awarded an honour from the Society for Children and Youth for its commitment to youth.
Fourteen communities across British Columbia have proclaimed November 20th as National Child Day – a day to celebrate the greatest natural resource any country can have, its youth.
Each year, the Society for Children and Youth of B.C. (SCY), a provincial advocacy organization dedicated to improving the well-being of children and youth, encourages local communities to celebrate the contributions that young people make to their communities.
SCY also recognizes the efforts of individuals, organizations and communities that strive to improve the well-being of children and youth.
This year, SCY will recognize those contributions on National Child Day at its fourth annual Child and Youth Friendly Communities Awards, celebrating success in making B.C.'s cities, communities and neighbourhoods better places for children and youth.
