First responders extricated a person from a vehicle that crossed into oncoming traffic and rolled into a ditch on Anarchist Mountain Monday afternoon.
Just before 2 p.m., the driver was heading east on Highway 3 and lost control on the lower bend at the base of Anarchist Mountain, Osoyoos Fire Department chief Ryan McCaskill said.
“From what I heard, she had something in the visor that fell into her face,” he said. “She ended up crossing over the centre line across incoming traffic into a ditch on oncoming side.”
The white BMW SUV rolled several times and ended up on its side.
Firefighters had to cut the roof of the vehicle to extricate the single, female occupant who was taken to hospital to treat injuries, believed to be non-life threatening.
“On scene she seemed coherent and not complaining of too many injuries,” McCaskill said.
