Re: RCMP investigating two assaults on Osoyoos homeless man
Dear Editor and people of Osoyoos:
When I read about the horrible treatment given to Vince, I felt I just had to write and share a wonderful thing that Vince did for me last fall.
I am a stroke survivor and while I can walk around my apartment with a cane, I use a mobility scooter to get around town to appointments and run errands.
I was on my way home from doing some pool therapy and I had just crossed the bridge when my scooter died. Vince happened to be resting in the shade across the street and came over to see if he could help me.
So he helped me by pushing me on my full-sized scooter up the 74th Ave. hill, all the way up to my road of Heron Lane. Once there, I could coast down to my place.
And I didn’t even have $5 in my purse that I could give him as a thank you.
He gave me a great big smile and hug and away he went.
Sincerely,
Carolyn Hughes, Osoyoos
