The Osoyoos Coyotes’ season came to an end last night, but it wasn’t without a fight.

They met with the Kelowna Chiefs on home ice for the fourth game of the first round of the KIJHL’s playoff series, ending with a 4-1 loss.

The match was the fourth loss in the series, bringing the Coyotes’ playoff career to an end.

While the Coyotes hadn’t managed to sink more than one goal in Kelowna’s net for the whole series, Saturday’s match was the first where Osoyoos managed to lead the game.

After a scoreless first period, Coyote Adam Diotte brought in the first game point with 12 minutes left in the second frame.

But five minutes into the final period, Kelowna’s Mathew Alcorn tied the score, and the next 15 minutes saw three more goals from the Chiefs, including one at 2:20 on an empty net.

Osoyoos goalie Daniel Paul, in his final game with the Coyotes and in the KIJHL, stopped 43 shots against him, while his teammates made 30 shots.

The Coyotes, with a new lineup, will hit the ice again when the new season starts in September.
