A lost skier and a few found items kept RCMP in Oliver busy this week.
The Oliver RCMP responded to the following calls for service this week: assaults, breach of the peace, motor vehicle incidents, unwanted guests, suspicious vehicles, reports of drug use, disturbances, weapons, threats, suspicious occurrences, break and enter, assist EHS, mental health act calls and abandoned 911 calls.
Investigations of Note:
- March 2nd – Attempted break and enter to garage, no access gained.
- March 3rd – Theft of vehicle, located in Osoyoos the following day.
- March 4th – Lost skier on Mount Baldy, safely located a few hours later.
- March 5th – Found bicycle, older model boys bike, yellow in colour.
- March 5th – Found Safety 1st 3-wheeled jogging stroller, black and red.
Charges have been laid against Brian Louie and Dean Gallagher of Oliver in relation to a home invasion that took place on February 24. Louie has been charged with assault, break and enter into a dwelling with intent to commit assault with a weapon, assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm. Gallagher has been charged with two cases of assault. Louie has been detained in custody.
Oliver RCMP would like to welcome Victim Service worker Tina Wallner to our team. Tina has worked with Osoyoos RCMP for over 20 years and will now also be working with Oliver RCMP. Tina will be working closely with Oliver RCMP to provide services to victims of all crime types including victims of violence, break and entries, home invasions, suicide/attempted suicide, kidnapping, sexual assault, violence in relationships, fatalities, natural disasters, and other incidents of crime and trauma. Tina has extensive experience in the Victim Services field and will be an asset to the Oliver Detachment.
