Town council has approved a development permit amendment that will see the Kiwanis Manor expansion project phased in.
Phase 1 will include a new elevator, an office on the second floor, a four-stall scooter enclosure on the first floor, and the renovation of existing dwelling units.
Phase 2 will include a new kitchen/dining room facility, a scooter parking structure, an upstairs lounge and an additional two dwelling units.
Contract planner Chris Garrish noted there are variances to reduce the number of on-site parking requirements in exchange for more than 30 on-site scooter parking spaces.
