More than 300 people turned out at the Sonora Community Centre on Oct. 9 to watch as nine of the candidates for Osoyoos Town Council gave their pitches and answered questions from the audience.
The forum was sponsored by the Osoyoos Times and moderated by Veronica Vinge, executive director of the South Okanagan Chamber of Commerce.
Two candidates did not attend — Jane Long, who is running as a councillor, and Doug Pederson, who is running to be mayor.
In addition to opening and closing remarks, candidates also answered 10 questions on a wide range of topics posed by members of the audience.
