The Osoyoos Coyotes got off to a bad start in Revelstoke Sunday night and despite an attempted comeback, they lost the second game of the series 3-2.

The Okanagan/Shuswap final series is now tied at one game each as the teams face each other in Osoyoos on Tuesday night.

In the first period Sunday, Revelstoke scored two unanswered goals – the first on a power play and the second shorthanded. The Grizzlies also outshot the Coyotes 18-9.

Osoyoos narrowed the gap when Judd Repole scored on a power play four minutes into the second period, assisted by Austin Cleaver and Jackson Barrett.

But Revelstoke scored another power play goal five minutes later, taking a 3-1 lead.

With less than six minutes remaining in the second period, Colin Bell scored for Osoyoos, again narrowing the gap. Cody Allen assisted.

In the third period, the Coyotes picked up their pace, outshooting the Grizzlies 14-7. But the period remained scoreless.

The game ended 3-2 for Revelstoke, as the series now moves to Osoyoos.

The next two games, on Tuesday and Wednesday, are in Osoyoos. The teams then travel back to Revelstoke for a fifth game on Friday.

If subsequent games are needed, they’ll be played Saturday in Osoyoos and Sunday in Revelstoke.

There was no action in the Kootenay Conference series on Sunday. Kimberley won on Friday and Nelson on Saturday, putting that series also in a 1-1 tie.
