Wayne Langlois
December 26, 1942 – December 23, 2025
It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of a remarkable man — a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a true legend in his field.
Born in Trail, BC, he spent his younger years in Creston, where his strong work ethic and quiet determination first took root. He went on to study Forestry at BCIT, setting the foundation for what would become an extraordinary career. Soon after, he rose to become Head of Fire Protection, earning a reputation that reached far beyond his community. Known simply as “The Legend” in Fire Protection, he was sought after around the world for his expertise and wisdom. His work took him across the globe, where he shared his knowledge generously and helped shape fire protection practices internationally.
Yet for all his professional accomplishments, his greatest pride was always his family. He shared 63 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Lynn — a partnership built on love, respect, and unwavering devotion. Together they created a life filled with laughter, resilience, and deep commitment. For more than twenty years, Osoyoos was their home. For countless hours Wayne spent time on the lake fishing, playing crib with his friends at Earl’s house with Danny by his side , and watching his family enjoy Osoyoos as often as they did.
He was a proud and loving father to Don (Angela), Brent (Sarah), and Terri (Shane). To his five cherished grandchildren — Kory, Renee, Sheldon, Jaimie, and Chloe — he was an exceptional grandfather, offering steady guidance, quiet encouragement, and unconditional love.
Though he was a quiet man, his heart was enormous. He did not seek recognition yet earned it. He did not boast yet achieved greatness. He led with integrity, loved without condition, and left a legacy of strength, humility, and kindness.
He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
