November 14, 1940 – December 30, 2025

On Tuesday, December 30, 2025, Donald Mike Varga of Osoyoos passed away peacefully at home after a long illness.

He is predeceased by his parents, Alex and Annie; brother Alex; half-siblings Frank (Ignace) and Meiri; and his niece Cathy.

Donald is survived by his brother Frank (Lynn); sisters-in -law Eileen and Carrie; nephews Kevin (Nicole), Trevor (Joy), Joe, Rick (Sandra), and Don (Jocelyn); nieces Allison (Josh), Shirley, Colleen (Earl) and Sandy (Dave); as well as many great nieces and nephews.

Donald worked for the Okanagan-Similkameen Co-Op for over 40 years and earned his Certificate of Refrigeration in 1986. He was also a member of the Osoyoos Legion and, for a while, a member of the Elks as well. He enjoyed travelling, seeing much of Canada and the US and took a trip to Hungary.
Donald enjoyed fishing and making his famous horseradish, pickles and jerky. He also won first place in the BC Amateur Wrestling Association in 1980.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Donald at the Osoyoos Legion on Saturday, January 17th, 2026 at 2:00 pm.
