Filming for the American action drama television series “Tracker”, has once again returned to the South Okanagan with crews from TNG Television Productions Ltd. filming in Oliver from Sunday, August 24 to Wednesday, August 27.

Starting on Monday road closures will take effect on School Ave., East of Gala St. to Fairview Rd. from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. and intermittent three minute traffic holds on Main Street between Fairview Rd. and Hillcrest Ave.

On Tuesday, August 26 Main St. (School Ave. to Hillcrest Ave) will be closed from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. with intermittent three minute traffic holds on Main Street throughout filming.

The Town is encouraging residents to plan ahead, as it may impact your daily routine, commutes, or errands, it said.

Various businesses have signed on to temporarily shift their identity, such as the Royal Canadian Legion which will become a veterinary clinic, and others including the Oliver Theatre, Loan Hound, Exhale Art & Crystal and Baby Rae’s (which has permanently closed as of Saturday, Aug. 23).

“While there may be some short-term disruptions, this is also an exciting opportunity to showcase Oliver on screens around the world! Thank you for your patience and cooperation as our community takes the spotlight!” the town said.

The series which now has two seasons with this latest filming for season three is based on the 2019 novel “The Never Game” by Jeffery Deaver.  The series stars Justin Hartley as Colter Shaw, a skilled survivalist and tracker who earns his living by assisting law enforcement and private citizens in exchange for reward money.

Filming will also take place in Osoyoos with the Town advising residents that a film crew will be active from 7 a.m. on August 26 until 7 p.m. on August 27. “The production may cause temporary noise from trucks, generators and scene sounds,” the town said.
