Osoyoos’ Brock Paton has ridden away with a Pedego ebike after having his name drawn in a contest promoting GoByBike Week that ran in late May.

The Town of Osoyoos was warded a $500 grant from the Provincial Government to promote GoByBike Week which ran from May 31 to June 6. The funding was used to promote getting out of cars and onto bikes for fun, fitness and a greener community.

By registering at GoByBikeBC.ca to log bike rides during that week people had a chance to win prizes. The goal was to make it the “most pedal-powered week of the year”.

This included setting up a “Street Safety” circuit at Sunbowl  Arena (by which time the ice had been taken out).

Both Dharma Kids Centre and Osoyoos Childcare Centre were invited to experience the circuit and learn about bike safety in the process.

On June 19, an email was sent to the town informing that local resident had won an AVENUE EBIKE with a 48V, 10Ah battery
