Patrick Anthony Vale

Patrick Anthony Vale, born June 19, 1952, passed away suddenly at his home in Osoyoos, BC on June 7, 2025.

Born in Ontario, Pat’s love of travel and adventure brought him to British Columbia, where he met his wife Deb and several life-long friends, eventually settling in Mission, BC to raise a family. Starting out in construction, Pat worked for several years building log homes, but after a few injuries, he transitioned into Real Estate where his natural friendliness, ease at talking to strangers, and a preference towards honesty helped to make several connections through his career.

Pat enjoyed volunteering and spent many years helping out with kids sports and community clubs, and even coaching teams for his own children when no one else was available. He also spent time volunteering with both the local Optimist Club and Rotary International, jumping at the chance to travel to other countries assisting on Rotary missions.

After moving to Osoyoos, Pat continued to volunteer through Better at Home, helping the elderly at first by driving them to appointments, and eventually expanding into mowing lawns and some light handyman work, building more friendships in his relatively short time living there.

Pat is survived by his wife Deb, and their children Kyle (Julie), Sarah (Rob), and Peter (Laura), and his 7 grandsons, Deacon, Ethan, Adam, Karsen, Nash, Madden, and Boston. He will be greatly missed by his family in Ontario, siblings Anne (Bill), Lyn, and Mike (Carol), and will be fondly remembered as “Uncle Funny” to niece Carla, great-niece Kaitlyn, and great-nephews Brandon and Devon. He will also be dearly missed by the collection of people who chose him as family.

At this time there are no plans for a public service – a private gathering with family and close friends will be held at a later date.
