Elden Schorn

October 11, 1939 – December 29, 2024

Elden Schorn departed this world on December 29th, surrounded by the love of his family.

Elden’s early years were spent in the Okanogan region, beginning in Bridesville, where he roamed the hills as a young boy, exploring the family ranch and homestead. He later moved to Osoyoos, where he spent summers swimming and diving in the lake. Elden eventually left Osoyoos to attend the University of British Columbia, embarking on a journey that would lead to a distinguished career with the Canadian federal government, including a diplomatic position. His work took him across Canada, to the West Indies, and to New York City.

Throughout these adventures, his beloved wife of 63 years, Marlene, was steadfastly by his side, ready for each new chapter.

Elden was a man of many talents and passions. An exceptional cook, he delighted in sharing meals with family and friends. He was also an artist who loved to paint and create. Known for his sharp wit and gift for storytelling, he captivated those around him with tales of his life and travels. Yet, above all else, Elden will be remembered for his thoughtfulness and compassion. He was a mentor, a community member who gave selflessly, and a man whose acts of kindness left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know him.

Elden’s family and friends will forever cherish his memory as a Renaissance man who lived a life full of purpose and love. Though his absence is deeply felt, his legacy of warmth, wisdom, and generosity will continue to inspire all who knew him.
