Interior Health has announced that the emergency services at South Okanagan General Hospital (SOGH) have been extended from 5 a.m. Saturday, August 17  until 12 p.m. Sunday, August 18 due to “limited physician availability”.

South Okanagan General Hospital’s emergency service will be unavailable from 1 p.m. Friday, August 16 to 12 p.m. Saturday, August 17 due to what Interior Health says is “limited physician availability”.

Patients are advised to access care at Penticton Regional Hospital during this time. All other inpatient services will continue as normal at South Okanagan General Hospital (SOGH).

People in the community who need life-threatening emergency care (i.e., chest pains, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding) should always call 911 for transport to the nearest available and appropriate facility.
