Blaine Arnold Skelton

October 18, 1949 – February 6, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Blaine, a cherished storyteller a delightful jokester and an avid Outdoorsman who thought solace in the embrace of nature he leaves behind a Legacy of love strength and cherished memories. Blaine was born at the Saint Martin’s Hospital in Oliver BC to Silas Arnold ( Bud ) and Phyllis Skelton. July 18th, 1973 two stars collided when Blaine met his life partner Elizabeth (Betty) and together embarked on an extraordinary journey. First living in Oliver then off to a float camp in Borroman Bay up off the West Coast. A short time spent on Vancouver Island, before purchasing a piece of property in Grand Forks BC 1977, residing there for 30 years, before returning to Oliver BC in 2007. Over the years their enduring love and unwavering partnership became the cornerstone for countless cherished moments. Blaine is survived by wife Elizabeth (Betty) and his children: Fiona Christina Jean of the UK; Lorraine Allison Denise (Rain )and her partner Jamie of White Rock BC; Donovan Lee Marshall, and his partner Christina of Revelstoke, BC. His legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren and greatgrandchildren: Scott, Shawn, Jacob, Emma, Autumn, Abby, Mariah Finley Sierra, Reese, and Esmeray. In addition to his immediate family, Blaine is survived by his brothers: Ken (Lisa ) Osoyoos, Randy (Linda) of Kamloops, and Bruce (Lisa) of Kelowna. Their bonds strengthened by shared memories and experiences reflects the warmth of family ties Blaine is also remembered and deeply missed by his cherished cousins nieces and nephews who were a vital part of his extended family circle. His love for people extended to the countless lives he touched, exemplifying his generous and caring nature. Blaine’s positivity during life’s difficult moments served as an inspiration to all. The stories of his adventures in the laughter he brought to every gathering will be dearly missed. A memorial to celebrate Blaine’s life will take place on March 24th 2024 from 1 :45 to 4:30 at the Oliver Legion 6417 Main Street. There will be a memory box set up. You can write and read it out or just drop in the box. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the southern Okanagan Sportsman Association for youth in the area. May his soul find Eternal peace, and may the echoes of Blaine’s laughter and love continue to resonate in the hearts of those he touched.
