Another year has passed and the 30th Anniversary of the WOW Trade Show hosted by the Women of Oliver for Women Society (WOW) is on the horizon. The Trade Show will take place Saturday, March 11, at the Oliver Community Centre and will showcase 50 display booths from new and returning vendors for everyone to enjoy.

The event is an opportunity to connect with friends, local suppliers and others to share information. The Trade Show features a myriad of different vendors with previous years offering everything from handcrafted jewelry, wood crafts, art, health products, fashion, food, home improvements and more.

Admission will be by donation and in addition to the 50 vendors, there will be door prizes, raffle prizes, colourful spring primroses for sale, an information table about WOW and refreshments will be provided by Oliver Eats.

The Trade Show began in 1993 as a fundraiser for Soroptimist International of Oliver. In 2003 the group disbanded and the Trade Show was carried forward by the WOW Society. WOW meets once a month with a pledge: “to enrich the lives of women and children in our community and beyond.”

The society generates funds through all sorts of channels such as membership, bridge socials, auctions, and other projects, but the WOW Trade Show is the top fundraiser for the society. All funds raised will go to supporting the society’s projects focusing on supporting women and children within the community.

WOW provides many community services such as assisting with the Senior’s Anniversary Tea and the Gleaners, Roots & Fruits Talent Event, caring for the entrance gardens at McKinney Place, Oliver Vaccination Clinic and more.
