Eugene Armand Gerardus LeDoux – AKA. “Opa”

June 14, 1934 -
January 7, 2023

It is with sadness that the family of Eugene LeDoux announces his passing on January 7 at the age of 88 years at the Penticton Regional Hospital.

Born in the Netherlands to a family of ten children, he came to Canada in 1957 where he met the love of his life Eileen; the remained and built their life together. He had a lifelong passion for soccer, as a player, referee, and coach for many of Vancouver’s youth as well as his children and grandchildren. Bowling, both 10-pin and lawn bowling, were also great passions of his.

Eugene worked many jobs in his lifetime, 16 years for Oliver Parks and Recreations, was a successful owner/operator of Dozy Acre campsite, and was most proud of his job as an underground mine rescuer in the Netherlands.

Eugene was very stubborn, and had a quick temper with a wicked sense of humour and heart of gold.

Eugene is survived by her 2 loving daughters, Patricia (Alan) Jagodics and Sandra (Matther) Silbernagel; grandchildren Christopher (Amber) Alexander, and Jayson Jagodics and Andrew and Nathan Silbernagel. Great-grandchildren Skyelur and Cheyenne Jagodics. He is also survived by brothers and sisters, and many nieces and nephews in the Netherlands. Sadly, he was pre-deceased by his beloved wife of 52 years, Eileen, in 2011.

As per our Father, “I Love You and I Love Me Too!”

There will be a private family celebration of life.
