Nostalgia Wines “crushed it” last Saturday (Oct. 1) with its 5th Annual Crush Party raising more than $1,800 for the local arts scene.
The annual event features a day of wine (and North Basin beer), music, artisan market, aerial dance performance by Jenn Bruyer, an I Love Lucy costume contest with a prize for the best dressed Lucy (or Ricky Ricardo), four heats of grape stomp action and a final, along with a children’s stomp.
“We actually raised more money than last year,” Sheila Whittaker, Nostalgia’s general manager said, adding it was the best outcome for a charitable partner yet. She noted it’s difficult to do a head count, “but our sales and donations were both up, so it would seem we had a busier day than last year.”
Money raised through admission-by-donation goes to Wide Arts National Association (WANA) which supports local arts experiences.
