Victor Gary Barnson
Born November 6, 1944, at the Royal Columbian Hospital, New Westminster B.C. to parents Robert (died in 1961) and Dora (nee Maxon) Barnson (died 1977); after his father’s death, his mother re-married Jack Loomer (died 2004) and the family, moved to Okanagan Falls BC. A short time after that his parents moved to Oliver and Victor moved into Beaverlodge.
After Victor’s Mom passed away, Victor moved into an apartment and then returned to Beaverlodge when it became a Senior’s Facility, as his long-time girlfriend, Betty Cook, lived there as well. When Betty was moved into McKinney Place Extended Care, Victor moved back to community so he could visit her daily, until her passing in July 2006.
In Victor’s spare time he loved volunteering at many events including the Action Club, Senior’s Bingo, Toast Masters, The Wine Festival (FOG), but his favourite place he volunteered at was at McKinney Extended Care, where his girlfriend Betty Cook was then a resident.
Victor’s favourite pastimes were Bingo, attending hockey games, movies, WWE, coffee outings with friends, watching karaoke, concerts and travel. He also loved collecting model cars and action figures.
Victor leaves to mourn his sister, Roberta Klettke, as well as his many friends at SOAICL.
RIP Victor…you will be missed!
