On Sunday, August 21, 2022, Maria Alves passed away peacefully, at the South Okanagan General Hospital in Oliver at the age of 84 years.

She will forever be remembered by her daughters, Margarida Alves (Luis), Maria Small (Phil); grandchildren, Steven Small (Chelsea), Samantha Small (Shane), Tyrone Borba; siblings, Jose Felizardo, Olinda Alentejano and Gracinda Antunes

Maria was predeceased by her husband, Antonio Alves; parents, Maria Jose Ferreira, Joaquim Ferreira Felizardo; siblings, Tino Felizardo, Alvaro Felizardo.

Maria was born and raised in Silvares, Fundão, Portugal. She was a member of the CWL and the Portuguese club. She also enjoyed travelling to Portugal and Mexico. She loved crocheting, gardening, and walks with her friends, but most of all she loved spending every minute she could with her grandkids.

A Funeral Mass took place on Friday, August 26, 2022, at 11:00 am from Christ the King Catholic Church with Fr. Peter Tompkins officiating. Burial followed in the Oliver Cemetery.
