On Monday May 2, 2022, Mrs. Gertrude (Trudy) Weiler of Oliver passed away peacefully at the South Okanagan General Hospital at the age 86 years. She was predeceased by her parents John and Mary Luthy and brother-in-law David Swanson. She will be greatly missed by her husband Erwin Weiler.

Trudy will be fondly remembered by her sisters Leony (William) Baldwin and Vreny Swanson as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Trudy was a loyal and valuable employee of Canada Post for over 35 years.

She volunteered in the community for many years with the Canadian Cancer Society and was a long-time member of the Eastern Star.

Trudy was a very involved and dedicated member of the Oliver United Church. She was one of four founding people who started the Sunshine Soup Kitchen in the early 1990’s and served on many committees. Trudy was the Oliver United Church choir director and was a respected trustee for many years.

Donations are gratefully accepted for the Canadian Cancer Society.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday July 2, 2022 at the Oliver United Church followed by urn interment and committal at the Oliver Municipal Cemetery. A reception hosted by the Eastern Star at the Oliver Masonic Hall will follow the interment.
